I affectionately thank Jean Victor Martin who trusted me to illustrate his book which he is currently signing in several cities in Brazil; as well as Mr. Edson Machado who does me the honor of exhibiting my illustrations at the Juarez Machado International Institute in Joinville (Brazil) for the launch of the book.

Jean-Victor spent most of his career at the French cultural network abroad: "Alliances Françaises", cultural centers and cultural services of embassies were his living environment in various countries around the world. These diplomatic-cultural activities developed in him a real attraction towards writing and speech.

Now retired, he lives in Florianópolis in Brazil, where the French authorities have entrusted him with the honorary consulate. His passion for letters led him to restore various paternal accounts of the Second World War, supplemented by extensive research, with the aim of offering the reader another look at this episode in the history of humanity.
